Lakme Absolute Sculpt Studio Hi Definition Matte Lipstick- Coral Flare Review, LOTD

I just love this second quarter of the year coz this the time most companies come up with their new launches and I get to try new lipsticks! Yes!!!!!!!!!!!! I am a lipstick addict. I am one of those kinda girls who are otherwise difficult to impress but a good lipstick! It can easily make us go weak on our knees. J

The lipstick under review today is a new launch from Lakme. I was anyways looking for a matte orangish red so I thought lemme give this range a try and just bought it online!

Lets see how it fared for me.

What Lakme Says:

Lakmé Absolute’s latest range of high definition Sculpt lipsticks has arrived! One stroke of contoured perfection is all you need to get a chiseled, long wear experience with a rich matte finish. Available in 15 dramatic shades (the brightest shades so far in the Absolute range), Lakmé Absolute Sculpt Studio Hi-Definition Matte Lipstick is your go-to professional product that provides nothing less than an expert finish.

Key Features:

  • High colour pay off in one stroke
  • Matte texture and finish
  • Long lasting formula
  • Highly recommended by Lakmé makeup experts
  • Most vibrant matte collection from Lakmé Absolute

Price: Rs. 700/-

Packaging: Lakme has finally started concentrating on packaging and I am definitely liking it. The lipstick comes in a greyish slim packaging with a transparent cap. The USP of this lipstick is its twist up mechanism. When you twist it down, it shuts with a click. I like this new feature by Lakme!GG-LLCF-03

Shade: Coral Flare is an orangish red- more orange with a hint of red. In different lights, it looks different. In artificial light, it looks more orange and in natural light it looks more red. In direct sunlight it looks a balance or orange and red. Phew! Nevertheless, it looks beautiful in all lights. Is a beautiful summerish color. Me likey!!

Texture: Lakme calls it a matte lipstick but it’s not matte kinda matte but more of a creamy matte. It glides on easily and does not dry out the lips. Though it’s not glossy but it’s not completely matte also.

Pigmentation: the color coral flare is quite pigmented and goes opaque in 2 swipes.

Final Thoughts:

I am sorta loving this lipstick these days. It’s the perfect summer red which can be easily worn during the day time also. Perfect balance of red and orange which does not scream for attention nor makes me look yellow or pale.

My only qualm here is the shape of the bullet. I prefer pointed bullets because they are easier to apply. This is more of a flat shaped bullet and I personally find it bit difficult to apply and because it is quite sheer in 1 swipe, lining with brush also takes bit of effort. Otherwise this is a decent one from Lakme.

Staying power wise, it stays for around 3-4 hours with light snacks in between. needs to be reapplied after a heavy meal.

Best Features:

  1. Nice packaging
  2. Summerish orangey red color
  3. Comfortable creamy matte
  4. Does not melt
  5. decent pigmentation
  6. Stays for 3-4 hours easily

Not So Best Features:

  1. Not completely matte
  2. Some may find it expensive

Do I recommend: ya if you’re looking for an orangish red color for this summers and don’t want to have those dry matte type of lippies, then you can definitely buy this. It’s a decent buy at this price. I’m now eyeing the pink caress from same range.

  1. I love blood orange shade but do not own any with long lasting power. Lakme Sculpt Studio range seems really nice and not drying matte type. Bookmarking this beauty for my next trip to Lakme 🙂
