Maybelline Lip Polish Glam 9 Review, Swatches, LOTD

GG-MLP-01

Okay! So first of all I want to apologize for the condition of my lip gloss today! I generally keep most of my products hoarded in my bag and thus this condition! The pictures which I clicked when I just bought it also got deleted so I had actually given up on reviewing this but then when recently I put up on FB a picture of myself wearing this, I got a lot of requests for reviewing it and thus am here with the review.

What Maybelline says:

For glossy, plump lips, choose Maybelline’s Lip Polish by Color Sensational.

Featuring glossy, vivid colors that also have a moisturizing effect, this lip polish makes your lips look fuller and more luscious. Dress your lips in a shade you love and watch heads turn!

Here’s why you’ll love it:

  • Has pure, saturated color pigments that provide deep intense color
  • Acts as a moisturizing liquid conditioning balm
  • Gives a soft cushiony feel to the lips
  • Features a built-in glossy top-coat that makes lips look fuller
  • Comes with a specially designed leaf-shaped applicator for quick, precise application GG-MLP-02

Price: Rs.450/-

Packaging: the lip polishes come in a beautiful see through tubes which close tightly. The applicator is leaf shaped and gets enough product for covering one lip at a time.

Texture: the texture is thicker than a regular lip gloss, almost like liquid lipsticks. Being so thick sometimes its difficult to spread the product evenly on the lips and also it tends to settle into the lip lines.

Shade: Glam 9 in a beautiful cool tones pink with neon coral undertones. The shade is best suited for fair to medium complexion and might look a bit garish on deeper skintones. The shade is apt for summers.

Pigmentation: the pigmentation varies from shade to shade. This shade- Glam 9 has medium coverage. I do not have pigmented lips so it’s not that bothersome for me but yes! Pigmented lips will need to wear a lip liner underneath to get even coverage.

Final Thoughts:

Lip polishes are glossy pout lovers heaven! Trust me! They are better than regular lip glosses around in many ways.

Firstly the shade range is too good- from brights to nudes, they have it all.

Then the staying power. Once put, it easily stays for 3-4 hours without any fading but 1 meal and it would require re-application. And re-application is not that easy. Being thicker in consistency, they just don’t go well with swipe on swipe. You need to remove it all first and then reapply.

Also being so thick, they require bit effort in getting even coverage. But once applied, they give such lovely

Other than that, these lip polishes are amazing. Perfect for that luscious glossy pout in summers!

GG-MLP-05

Best Features:

  1. Wide shade range
  2. Leaf applicator perfect for application
  3. Glam 9 is beautiful pinkish coral shade
  4. Pigmentation is workable
  5. Stays put for long if not touched in between

Not So Best Features:

  1. Tends to settle in lip lines
  2. Thicker consistency requires efforts to apply evenly

Rating: 4/5

Do I recommend: Definitely! I am generally a matte lover but love wearing this lip polish every now and then. Gives me those luscious lips! Highly recommended!

  1. wow the color looks so pretty on your lips. Please tell me how good it is for pigmented lips. my upper lip is pigmented and my lower one, hence most of the time I have to stay away from lip glosses due to this problem. Does it cover lip pigmentation

    • the pigmentation is not that well dear! As mentioned in post, you can first use a nude/pink lip liner to fill in the lips and then use this. This ways it would work better for pigmented lips.
