Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm- Unapologetic Review

Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm- Unapologetic Review

These crayon type balms have really taken over the market in last 1-2 years, especially the Revlon ones. I was pretty curious to get one of these but price was a bummer though. As soon as I saw these on discount online, I picked this one up. I got this shade unapologetic thinking it to be a MAC Impassioned dupe at less than half the price but then got the MAC Impassioned also because after all MAC is MAC though this one is also not bad!

Lets read more about this:

What Revlon Says:

Vibrant colors infused with a Triple Butter Complex give you a bold, beautiful lip. It’s a burst of matte color with a balm-like feel. Go bold and get moisturized in 10 craveable, collectible shades.

  • Velvety color + balm-like moisture
  • Infused with a Triple Butter Complex of shea, mango, and coconut butter
  • Retractable chubby crayon, no sharpener required

Price: Rs. 800 (I got it for Rs.600)

Packaging: I have fallen for crayon type packaging after using this matte balm. These are so easy to use and line the lips. Much better than regular bullets. Matte balms have matte body and creamy ones and creamy body. I like the fact that all shades are differently colored making them easy to identify.

Shade: Unapologetic is a beautiful carrot pink kinda shade. It has strong coral untertones and is a bold head turner sort of shade. On different skin tones it looks different. On my NC 25 skintone, it looks more neon coral and on my NC40 sister it looks more pink. Nevertheless, the shade is super gorgeous.

Texture: these balms are creamy matte in texture. More towards creamy and less matte. The texture is very unforgiving on dry lips and immediately clings to chapped areas. Also does not feel heavy on lips at all.

Final Thoughts:

As already told I bought this thinking it to be a cousin sister of MAC impassioned and let me tell you it even is. Though slightly less neonish than impassioned but nevertheless 80% similar.

I like the peppermint fragrance it has. Immediately upon application, it feels cool onto lips. Pigmentation is bang on! 1 swipe gives you proper color on lips but I swipe it atleast twice for even coverage.

Once put it stays for almost 4-5 hours easily though lips tend to feel dry by 3rd hour but color stays bang on even with meals in between. Reapplication over already applied lipstick is messy and enhances lines so needs to be wiped off before reapplying.

The only qualm is that it is not your go to lipstick if you have dry lips. It requires proper exfoliation and base before application, else it looks bit tacky clinging to the dry parts.

I love this color and it has been one of the most used one this summers. The color complements my fair skintone very well and make me look brighter.

The pictures here though don’t do justice to the color. Its much brighter in person. Somehow my camera was not picking the coral tones well.

Rating: 4/5

Do I recommend: Highly! Easy to use and perfect bright coral color in matte finish. This has been my go to lippie this season and am sure you are also gonna enjoy it equally. Though Rs.800 is higher for these but if you can get these at discounted price online, do get it. Recommended!
