Just because am sooooooo happy today, I won’t blabber about anything and go directly to the point! Yesssssssssss!!!! I have found the closest dupe to the most coveted red lipstick- MAC Ruby Woo. I had bought this lippie somewhere in January to go with a white suit… I had liked the way it looked on me but never knew it was a dupe of my favourite MAC lipstick. Now when I bought the MAC ruby woo (already reviewed here), I swatched both of these side by side and Gosh! I was thrilled to see how similar these 2 were.

Let’s know more about this lipstick from Lakme First.

Packaging: this range comes in a beautiful rose gold bullet. But the same issue, if you have multiple of these, its difficult to identify one, so a color coded packaging would have been appreciated but this rose gold bullet also looks adorable, I just have one of these so it’s not an issue for me.

My Thoughts:

I always prefer my bright shades to be in matte finish because they look subtle and more wearable in matte finish. I urgently wanted a red lippie for a family function and got this.

Red Coat is a cool toned deep red with blue undertones. It brightens even a dull look and is pretty bright to wear. Goes nicely with bronze eye or a black smokey eye too.

The texture is very soft and creamy. There is no tugging or pulling involved while applying. Though in swatches, it might look creamier but on lips it sets to a comfortable matte finish.

The Pigmentation is nice too and you get good coverage in one swipe only.

I always wear it swipe dab swipe dab and swipe. i.e. apply 3 times blotted with tissue. This way it stays on easily for 4 hours with mild snacks in between. One full meal and you’ll need reapplication.

Now the best part- this lippie is the exact dupe of MAC Ruby Woo. Yuppppp!!!! See for yourself in the swatches below.

The differences are:

Texture: MAC is lot drier and matter than Lakme.

Staying Power- MAC stays for 6-7 hours easily and survives a meal too but Lakme stays for max 3-4 hours and needs reapplication after a meal.

Rest both are exactly same.

Do I Recommend: If you are on budget but like the shade of MAC Ruby Woo you can get this for sure. Both are exactly same in color and texture is also not bad. Recommended!
