I know many a times we girls are in hurry and get little to no time for doing makeup and end up cutting out on a few steps or tend to overdo a few. Many a times I have done my complete makeup in car or at venue directly. See this is completely understandable! but while in hurry we tend to get a bit nervous and commit mistakes which can ruin our entire look or make us look worse than we looked without makeup.

Today am going to make you girlies wiser by sharing mistakes to avoid when in hurry.

1.Applying foundation to unmoisturized skin

While in hurry, we tend to cut out on many steps and many a girls, especially oily skinned beauties think they can do without a moisturizer. Logic- anyways skin is going to produce oil and foundation will look ok. Wrong! Dry skin makes blending difficult and foundation tends to cling to dry patches if any and also will just sit on top of the skin and look really bad. I am a beauty blogger but still I confess that this is one such mistake which I have also committed and trust me!!!! It looks really really bad. My advice- don’t ignore moisturization because no matter how much creams you apply later on, its not gonna soothe the dry patches, max you can try a makeup spray.

2. Not applying foundation on neck

Again when in hurry, we just apply the foundation onto the neck and think we are done! Nopes! The mismatch between the shade of face and neck will be clearly visible, especially if you wear the foundation tad lighter than actual skin tone (which is again a mistake in itself, read bout how to choose the right foundation here ). Also this would spoil all your pictures, specifically apparent in flash. My advice- instead of foundation, you could just swipe your face powder/compact onto the neck part, it will look somewhat matched.

3. Unblended blush

See just placing the blusher onto the cheeks does not mean application. You need to apply it properly and blend it towards the ears. While in hurry, am sure many of you would just swipe a brush once onto the cheeks and skip to other part. Also before applying the blusher, you need to tap off the extra because even too much of blusher will make you look like a clown. My advice- don’t go for pigmented blushes while in hurry, reach for sheerer ones, they are more forgiving.

4. Clumpy lashes

This one mistake can ruin your entire look and make you look vampy instead of a princess. Usually we tend to skip the curler and increase the no. of coats thinking it will add more volume and curl. Instead it adds more clumpiness. Its better to let the lashes look natural with 2 coats rather than making them look spidery. My advice: don’t go beyond 3 coats in any case. A good mascara will give you enough curl and volume in 3 coats, if you think you require more, change your mascara!

5. Applying lipstick to dry lips

Please please please do not apply matte lipstick to dry unprepared lips. Nothing looks more tacky than your lipstick enhancing your lines or dry patches sticking out. While in hurry, stick to creamier formulas as they are more forgiving than matte ones. My advice- if you are hell bound on using a matte lipstick, wear a lip both under and over it and once you reach venue, blot it off with a tissue, you’ll have a matte effect with better looking lips.
